This is the page where we display the health and other information for all of the litters we produce, including litters
that our stud dogs produce outside of our breeding program.
If you buy a Uniquity puppy, we ask that you certify the hips, elbows, and eyes of your puppy.
Belgian shepherds are a healthy breed in comparison to most others. However, epilepsy still runs rampant in the
breed and there is no genetic test available at the moment. Along with epilepsy, we also see autoimmune issues,
allergies, hypothyroidism, cataracts, cryptorchidism, and occasionally PRA (progressive retinal atrophy). With very
selective breeding and considerable health testing, my goal is to breed the healthiest puppies I can. However, no
breeding program is perfect, just as there are no perfect pedigrees and no perfect dogs. We can try the best we
can and occasionally still make mistakes, or have things pop up that we did not know were hiding in our pedigrees.
If EVERY breeder was honest about what they produced, everyone could make better choices. Never buy a dog from
a breeder that claims that there are no problems in their lines/pedigree, and never buy from a breeder that is not
forthcoming with information about the problems they've dealt with and/or produced.
